Allergies are so widespread these days that it's hard to know where to start if you think you may suffer from any (or a lot). A doctor can run a screening test on you and determine some of the allergies. On the other hand, most of the allergies I am acquainted with can be tested on/figured out by yourself. It's a matter of elimination. Of course, I am not talking about the terrible reaction to shrimp or peanuts or other things that some people are allergic to. Asthma has to also be taken care of medically. I am talking about possible allergies that cause runny noses (that aren't a cold), congestion (also not a cold or chronic bronchitis or something), or a rash that appears after you touch an object (and then goes away rapidly).
Allergies to some kind of plant material, such as bamboo, can cause an immediate reaction which could include blisters. Even if you sit down on an upholstered bench in the summer (with bare legs for instance) or use a new piece of clothing without first washing it (this is most important) you may get a violent reaction to the chemicals used in manufacturing of clothing or cloth. This type of allergy is very easy to both test, and take care of.
An insidious allergy is caused by wheat. Wheat is in a whole lot of food products these days. I used to love a piece of wheat bread popped into a toaster. Wheat is in soy sauce (you can get it without wheat), and therefore anything that contains soy sauce has wheat. Read the labels and they will tell you. There are many kinds of baking mixes available that will substitute for ones containing wheat, and you have to get creative in the kitchen with herbs and such to make flavorful cooking, but that is actually a good thing as we should all be aware of what we are eating. Single ingredients are deemed to be best anyway, so combing them into a dish you make at home is much healthier. Beware of gravy, and you'll have to settle for non-stretchy pizza crust, but you may feel a whole lot healthier in a few weeks. And it doesn't hurt to try this withdrawal method for allergies.
Breaded products with fast food and at restaurants have to be avoided and strong cleaning chemicals because of the fumes. If you can determine what has caused, or continues to cause an allergic reaction, try the withdrawal method with one thing at a time. Of course, as with anything, if it persists or has persisted over a lengthy period of time, seek medical attention. Start using a few organic products and then increase usage if you start to feel better. Breathing in herbs while using a vaporizer can also ease breathing and it will calm any stress.
