Do you have contaminated water? Would you know if you had it? If you start to smell some bad odor from your water, you very well might. This kind of water could come from your washing machine, hot water tank, the water from your bathtub or shower, even the water that comes out of your dish water. Once the water comes out of your faucets and goes into something else and you add our body or even the soap needed to clean us or something else like clothes or dishes, this water will become contaminated. There are three stages of contaminated water. First is called light, then gray, and then black with black being the worst.
Black water can be contaminated with things like sewage or chemicals that can come from a natural disaster flood or even a septic tank or line leak in your yard. If black water gets into the ground, it can kill all the living things that use this ground for centuries. It will stay in the ground and sometimes not let anything grow, not even grass. Your yard will look like the desert and the smell can be unbearable to be around. To get rid of the damage, you will have to remove all of the damage contaminated ground this mess is in. You might end up with a huge and deep hole. You will have to have a professional come in and remove all of this as they will be the only one with the machinery to remove all of this contamination.
Septic tank leaks or septic line ruptures and leaks are not that uncommon for homeowners. The chances of this happening becomes greater if you live in an older home with an old tank and lines. Not only will this nasty, smelly, and contaminated water run all over your land, but it can back-up into your home if you get a clog in your lines or the tank gets full and begins backing up. Septic tanks must be emptied every several years depending on the size of your tank, your family, and the amount of water you use. If you notice a bad smell and wet areas in your yard that should not be there, you need to have it checked out. Sewage leaking in your yard is very unsanitary. Many people who can are putting in city sewer and water, draining their septic tanks and having them removed. Doing this is sometimes a really good idea because it might save you some money later.
