Do you think your skin lacks water? When you itch does your skin flake and leave white or red marks? Do you drink any pure water during the day? Most of you think that you do, but really you are not. This is because you should not necessarily count the water that is in the coffee, soda, or whatever else you drink during the day. Your body is made up of about 75 percent water and you need to drink enough water to keep the percentage from going down. This can happen pretty fast when you sweat or exert yourself whether you are doing exercise or just standing in one spot at work. The hotter your body becomes and the more you sweat, the more replacement water you will need.
When you work somewhere like in a metal building that can become overheated, you start to sweat. When this happens, go get some plain water to help cool you down and replace the water that you lose by sweating. Do not wait too long to do this, as the longer this goes on, the more water your body is losing and the more tired and dehydrated you might become. Also, the older you become the more of a problem this might be. We all need to try to drink at least 32 ounces of water or more a day and if you sweat, you should drink more. Do you know that if you do not drink enough water your body will start holding the water it has in storage until it receives more? This is referred to as water weight gain.
Although drinks like coffee, soda, and other such drinks do contain water, all of the chemicals, sugar, and caffeine that are in them are not good for you. This stuff is not good for your body. It will cause you to get the jitters or the shakes because they can affect your nervous system. You should not take any of your medicines with coffee or soda and never with beer. The longer your body goes without water, the more your body can be affected by sore muscles, headaches, and even cramps.
If this problem becomes severe, you will need to go to your doctors for help. Your doctor will know what to do to get you feeling better and back on your feet. If you get severely dehydrated you could be put you in the hospital over night to help you recover. This often happens with small children when they become sick with fever, colds, flu, or stomach ailments because they do not want to eat or drink. It is vitally important to keep children hydrated well especially when they are ill.
