Heart disease is known as a silent killer. For those that have smoked cigarettes for years, eight out of ten of them that die this way is directly linked to smoking. The chemicals that are in tobacco products has been proven to restrict the flow of blood throughout the body with long time use of cigarettes. This particular disease attacks the blood vessels and weakens them to to point they can no longer support the flow of blood throughout the body. This is known as chronic pulmonary disease and the heart continues to work harder than needed to force blood through the veins, therefore setting you up for another known cause of death from smoking cigarettes and that is cardiac arrest.
Having a heart attack is a wake up call for anyone that smokes cigarettes. This should inform you of the damage to the heart you already have from long time use of cigarettes. When you have a heart attack this means two things, one is that you now know what you have allowed to happen to your heart from smoking, and two is that you are subject to have another one. And the next time you do have one, it just could be the last. The fact is that smoking cigarettes is killing people faster than you can bury them and there is no end in sight for people losing their life to this killer.
The numbers of people that die from just these two diseases are absolutely staggering. No smoker wants to know that each year as many as a million people will lose their life due to the fact that they have smoked cigarettes in the past. Having a heart attack from smoking is almost like walking out in front of traffic on the interstate and not getting hit by a car, if you do not get hit, you are very lucky.
The chances of a smoker having a heart attack or heart ailment is about a 90% chance and in 7 out of 10 cases, it can be fatal. When a smoker has a heart attack their body has already been subjected to cigarette smoke for so long it has damaged the heart to the point that it can no longer work the way it should.
These two killers have got to be stopped, and the only way to reduce the number of fatalities each year is for people to quit smoking now. Call your doctor for an appointment to get off cigarettes or just go cold turkey before you end up like one.
