These days many home owners will purchase carbon monoxide detectors at their local hardware or home store. This is what you put in a home to alert you to this killer, yet this is a known by product that comes from cigarettes and the companies that make them are making millions of dollars each year. They are selling a product that should have an alarm of its own. When you open a pack, the alarm should go off telling you that you are being exposed to a deadly killer when you light up.

Carbon monoxide is a poisonous, colorless, and odorless gas that is produced as a result of incomplete burning of carbon containing fuels. Cigarette smoke can contain high levels of carbon monoxide in just one cigarette. This is something that smokers must realize, it is as plain as black and white because tobacco companies are not hiding this fact. When inhaled, carbon monoxide quickly binds with hemoglobin in red blood cells in the lungs, creating carbon monoxide hemoglobin. This can affect the amount of hemoglobin available for the transport of oxygen throughout the body, which may in turn lead to symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.

If you have experienced any symptoms like headache, dizziness, vomiting, or confusion; these are some of the signs of a carbon monoxide poison. If these symptoms persist contact your doctor because they could become worse and should be looked into by a medical physician. This is only one of the many chemicals that are in cigarettes that are extremely dangerous to your health. If you have been smoking for more than ten years, you should set an appointment with your local doctor. Even if you have no signs of carbon monoxide poisoning, you could have developed many other related smoking illnesses.

Although carbon monoxide may be produced by smoking cigarettes, the number of other health related
problems that come from smoking cigarettes would take a book to list them all. Those of you that are still hooked on tobacco products should look for more sources of help. The answer for smokers that are serious about quitting cigarettes is to search for the hundreds of ways to finally kick the habit. You will find that the amount of knowledge that is available about quitting cigarettes, the dangers of smoking, and more health reasons to stop smoking is more than you have time to read about. No particular way to stop smoking seems to work for everyone, but there are a lot of choices to try. It could take a combination of things before you can finally quit for good.
