Today all across America people continue to light up, even though the proven dangers are real, the number of smokers do not seem to be declining that much. This is a very difficult habit to quit once you have become hooked on cigarettes. There is nothing any more addictive than smoking cigarettes. The number of people that have been able to quit cigarettes is hard to keep up with because so many quit and then start back again. When an individual starts smoking cigarettes at a young age, it does not take but just a couple of months before they are completely helpless in their addiction to them.
After a smoker who has been lighting up for as little as five years, the amount of damage that is done to their lungs is noticeable. When you inhale the smoke into your lungs, the nicotine that is delivered to the brain through your blood stream is one of pleasure. The brain may interpret this nicotine as being pleasure, but what the smoke is doing to the body and lungs will not be so pleasant at all. The damage that is done to the lungs by smoking cigarettes will be noticed all most immediately. The first thing a smokers notices is their inability to breath normally, and have the energy that they once had. These are the first of the symptoms caused by smoking, but they will surly not be the last.
The first symptoms of smoking may not be the last, but they will be the worst because these two symptoms will never leave you. They will remind you everyday that you do not have the energy you once had and you can no longer breath normally. It will be obvious to you when you are no longer able to perform simple things like pushing a lawnmower or running into the home to grab a phone call. This is when a smoker realizes what damage that they have really done to their lungs by smoking cigarettes.
When a smoker begins to have these two symptoms, it will not take long before other problems arise like serious pain in the chest or having a nasty sounding cough. A smoker will also notice that they might not have the ability to keep up with someone who does not smoke. This one will be obvious to you and anyone who might be watching you will noticed as well. A smoker will never regain the full use of their lungs again, or the energy they once had as long as they smoke. Continuing to smoke cigarettes will only cause your body to continue to deteriorate as times goes by.
