When the flames of a fire makes contact with skin it can cause many problems, how bad depends on how bad it burns you. There are many types of burns that can effect your body and your health. Some can be nothing and others can be painful of worse. Scarring will also depend on how bad the burn is. Blistering, soreness, redness, swelling, peeling, and more comes with different types of burns. Some burns also can be fatal.
Many things can burn you like heaters, stoves, curling irons, clothes irons, even a blow dryer too close to the skin can burn. Anything that has heat to it can burn you a little or a lot, so you have to watch how close you get to these things. When you touch something that is very hot you can start getting blisters right away and they can very big. When blisters occur that means that you have second or third degree burns which you might need to have a doctor look at it so see how bad it is.
For fourth, fifth, and six degree burns, they are very bad and you can be in the hospital for them due to the damages it will do. Now a first degree burn is nothing but maybe a little redness and some swelling might occur, but nothing dangerous unless the skin is broken and it gets infected. Damages to the skin can take a long time to heal depending on the burn and how quickly an individual body heals. If the burns are severe, it can cause nerve damage which can cause you to have no feeling in that area, perhaps even after it is healed.
Some scarring can be less visible than some. Scars can be rough and raised off the skin. Did you also know that your skin can come off your muscle? This will also depend on the burn, it is important to know about these degrees of burns so you will know what to do and what can happen. Teach your kids why fire is not safe and what it can cause. Teach them what to do if a fire is caused. You must all always have a first aid-kit in the house so you can treat a burn and know whether it needs to be seen by a doctor or not.
