There are dozens of different kinds of fillings that can be found in pillows, and loose hulls are some of the most popular stuffings today. Although they have been used in pillows for centuries in Asia and also in Europe, the trend has just recently begun to catch on in the United States. Every type of pillow comes with different benefits and different drawbacks, and carry with them different prices too. It all depends on what they are filled with, where you shop for them at, and what the manufacturer is that all combines to set the price.

Choosing the right kind of pillow is a really important decision that has to be made that a lot of people may take for granted. Many people just grab a pillow, often the cheapest one they come across, and wait until it flattens out to get another one. Interestingly enough, it is often these same people that suffer from insomnia, neck and back pain, snoring, or sleep apnea. Loose hulls are small, hard little kernels that are put in pillows as an alternative to other fillers. Some of the other popular types of fillings are latex, which is good for those people who are most comfortable sleeping on their backs and sides, and memory foam, which is also good for side sleepers and back layers.

Loose hulls are most commonly found as buckwheat or millet, and there are tons of benefits to using them. First of all, they are ultra conforming to the shape of your head and neck, which means ultimate support for you. Your head and neck are not forced to lie in positions that are out of alignment with the body. Instead of your body conforming to the pillow, the pillow conforms to your body.

These pillows are suitable for anyone that sleeps on their backs, sides, or stomachs since it is completely adjustable too. The material is thermodynamic, which means that they stay at a constant temperature throughout the night, and they also are great at keeping moisture away from your body, keeping you comfortable and cool all night long. The hulls are not conducive to housing dust mites (which is good for several obvious reasons) and they are also 99% dust free, which is great news for those with allergies and asthma. They are considered to be hypoallergenic for this reason.

The loose hulls that fill pillows make them incredibly easy to care for too. The outer coverings of the pillows can be slipped off and tossed into the washing machine, and the only care that the actual pillows require is to be laid out in the sun every so often to freshen up. The pillows that are filled with loose hulls, either buckwheat or millet ones, are extremely durable too. Instead of losing their shape after only a couple of months or even weeks, they retain their shape and last for five years or longer, especially when they are properly cared for. Loose hulls provide a durable, comfortable, supportive, allergen free cushion for your head for a good nights rest every time, all of the time.
