Cellulite myths have made their way into discussions that are supposed to be "truths" about the subject. Sometimes, due to lack of information or research, women get mislead and often times end up with the wrong treatments and wrong interpretations on their cellulite. Here are some made famous over time:
1. Some people believe that cellulite can only grow on thighs and buttocks. As they don't understand the mechanism behind cellulite formation, they have this notion that only their thighs and buttocks are susceptible to cellulite. Well, cellulite can also grow on your arms, stomach and even your neck.
2. Would you believe that a soda pop has been accused of being the culprit in the appearance of cellulite? It was thought of that the sodium content in the soda pop makes fat cells swell resulting to cellulite. It is very wrong to think about it in this way since cellulite are indeed fat cells, fat cells that have become trapped in the connective tissue near the skin and are grossly deformed thus their appearance.
3. Only overweight people get affected with cellulite. Fact or Myth? Myth! Just because overweight people have more fat cells doesn't mean that they are the only ones prone to this circumstance. Believe it or not, everyone has fat cells, even those who are skinny and slim. So just the same, they too can get affected with cellulite. No one is really exempted from this problem.
4. Age may be one of the factors in cellulite formation. While cellulite may be seen more in older people, the thought that only those over 40 years old can have cellulite is definitely not true. At any age, cellulite can manifest itself.
These cellulite myths have been thought of as true for quite some time now. There are even some who take advantage of these myths to sell their products or promote treatments. Now you know that what they offer can never be true for in the first place, they have based their "studies" in totally untrue ideas. Be careful for they are only after your hard-earned money. It really pays to know the truth when it comes to anything that you deal with, not only on cellulite. So the next time you hear about any of these cellulite myths, you would know better than start believing them
