Most of you when you are born have thick skin. All this means is that it might take a lot to cause it to become torn or burned. Some of you are unfortunate to be born with thin skin which can be damaged very easily. Did you know that as you grow older your skin gets thinner and dryer? The main reason for this is that as you grow older you might drink less and less water. Also a lot of times the medicines you might have to take will cause these problems. If you happen to be one of these people that are sick a lot, these problems can hit you sooner.

You need to start teaching your children the importance of drinking enough water each day at a young age. If you are a young adult, you just need to make sure that you are still drinking enough water each day and this is about 32 ounces. If you are an older adult and you know that you are not drinking the amount of water, you will need to start again. If you happen to know that you do not drink enough water or drink none at all in the pure form, the problems with your skin will show up at a young age.

As older adults lose more water each day faster than anyone else, you might be sick more often Any time you get sick, this water loss increases sometimes so bad that you will end up in the hospital. If you drink enough water each day, you might be able to slow down this process. If you do not sweat a lot or do the exercise that makes you sweat, 32 ounces of water a day is enough. If you exercise a lot and sweat, then you will need more than this. But try not to overdo this as it can cause other problems as well.

Your body stores water in your muscles and even in the fat layers of your body. If you drink too much this can cause you to gain water weight. This can happen even when you do not drink a lot because your body will remove the water from what you are drinking and store it. If you are drinking something besides pure water, it will also receive all of the other harmful things included in any drink that has caffeine, sugar, or other ingredients. All of this other nasty stuff that your body is receiving may only add to the problems. When this happens you will have to go to your professional doctor to get his or her advice on what to do.
