If you start to gain some weight and you are still eating like you always have, you might be gaining this weight from water. Some of you do not drink a lot of water every day unless you do something that is going to make you hot and thirsty. You might go for days with out drinking even a full glass of water. Instead you drink things like coffee, tea, or soda pop. Most of you think that as long as this drink has some water in it, your body is receiving water.
This is not the whole truth. Your body stores water in all of your muscles and cells in your body. If your body does not get pure water sometimes, it will take what you give it. Which means your body will store whatever is in that drink as well.
This could be caffeine and all of the sugars as well. Some of these have more of this unhealthy stuff than others. You might think that the non-caffeine drinks are better, but these are just as bad for you. If you go on a diet, stay away from all of these drinks. The best thing for you is pure water and exercise. There are a lot of other foods that you should stay away from, but to know for sure what they are, you might need some help. Finding a good professional weight counselor is the best way. This person might have had this same problem before and will help you any way they can.
They will help you stay on a balanced diet and instruct you with the exercises that you will need to be doing to achieve your goals. When you first go to this person, they will sit down with you to set up a goal or the weight amount you really want to lose. With this goal set and with each pound you lose, you will likely apply yourself even more. If you do not have a goal set, you might find yourself talking yourself out of sticking with it.
You will be happy when you lose weight, but the minute you stop losing will be when you want to quit. Many people often will lose several pounds quickly and then go a week or two without losing much more. This is sometimes because the first pounds you lost might have been mostly water. It takes longer to burn off actual body fat.
None of you plan to gain weight, it is something that usually happens to all of us some time in our lives. For some of you this might happen when you were young and then it might happen when you get older. It seems to hit most of us when we reach the age of forty or so. To some it might not hit at all or it is not enough to worry about. Sometimes as we age, our metabolism slows down and makes it more difficult to lose weight. You might have to eat a little smarter and exercise a little more often to stay at the weight you prefer.
