Have you ever been so hot that you feel like your skin was on fire? Is your head so warm that you think your hair will just fall out? Are you so warm that you feel like if you stepped in cool water you might be able to heat it up by your temperature alone? This can mean that you have a fever that is fighting off something that is bothering your body. In most cases like this you are just plain sick. The best thing you can do is go to bed and stay there. Drink plenty of fluids and take some medicine to lower your temperature. If you do not start to feel better after a day or two or you end up worse, it will be time to go to your doctor so that he can help you get better.
He might know what is wrong with you right away and if he does not, he might order some tests done to find out what is wrong. If he can he or she, will prescribe medicine you might need for whatever they found. If this sickness has gotten too bad. he might not have any choice but to put you in the hospital. Here you will get around the clock care and they will be in touch with your doctor at all times. Should you get worse they will get a hold of him so that he can come to check on you himself or at least give instructions on what to do until he can get there. You will need to have medical insurance to help with the costs of this stay as it could be rather expensive.
Your insurance will cover most of the costs of this stay, the fee the doctor will charge you, any lab work and medicine that they might have to give you. They will feed you three times a day and even clean your room and change your bedding. This will be done each day that you are here so that you will be clean and comfortable. If you are at home and have something contagious, you could spread it to everyone in your home. When you are really sick you might not have the strength to get out of bed, much less have the strength to change your bedding.
If you find yourself getting sick and you do not know what is wrong, try to go to your doctor as soon as you can get in. This way you will get to feeling better faster and you might not end up in the hospital. You will not lose time from your job or make the rest of your family sick. They say a ounce of prevention is a pound of cure and whoever said this knows what they were talking about.
