If you suffer from Endometriosis, chances are you'll need to make some changes in your diet to stop your Endometriosis Symptoms getting worse.

These changes will not only ease your Endometriosis symptoms but will also balance your hormonal levels by reducing the amount of estrogen in your system and best of all, will also stabilize your emotions.

A diet for women with Endometriosis will help you avoid foods that encourage and aggravate your symptoms while eating foods that reduce prostaglandins.

Prostaglandins are produced by estrogen and cause the painful cramps you experience with your period. Additionally, they may be responsible for vomiting, nausea, menorrhagia and diarrhea that tend to accompany many woman's periods as well.

To ease the symptoms of Endometriosis, your diet should also include fiber. Fiber helps reduce the amount of estrogen in your system as well as help with digestion to ease constipation that you may be experiencing on a regular basis.

Foods like beans, brown rice, whole grains, fruits and vegetables are rich in fiber and should be included in your diet.

Another thing to include in the diet for women with Endometriosis is Omega 3 fatty acids. This improves your all round physical and mental health and improves a good prostaglandin known as PGE1. Great sources include sunflower oil, tuna, evening primrose oil, walnuts, flaxseeds and oil, pumpkin seeds, oily fish particularly mackerel, sardines, herring and salmon.

The Endometriosis Diet also recommends minimizing dairy products. Dairy stimulates the creation of prostaglandins which makes your symptoms worse.

If you choose to completely eliminate dairy, then you should find other sources of calcium that will help you meet your daily requirements. These include dark leafy vegetables such as spinach and broccoli, sesame seeds, almonds, tofu fortified with calcium, seaweed, tahini, figs, sardines and salmon.

Animal meat should also be reduced in the diet for women with Endometriosis. It tends to exacerbate your symptoms therefore you should add other protein sources that do not affect you in the same way. These are tofu, beans, nuts, seeds and tempeh among others.

Other foods to avoid in the Endometriosis Diet include caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, butter and margarine, saturated fats, refined sugars and carbohydrates as well as fried foods.

Limit your intake of foods that come from soy as these are also disruptive to women who are estrogen sensitive.

The diet for women with Endometriosis should be tailored to your particular symptoms as some foods may aggravate you but not the next person.

Moreover, the Endometriosis Diet should include supplements of vitamins and minerals to ensure that you meet the daily requirements needed. If your period tends to be heavy and long then talking to your doctor about iron supplements is a great idea to ensure that you do not get anemic.

The diet for women with Endometriosis should reduce the symptoms you are experiencing and may even help with weight loss for those looking to drop some pounds, as the foods eliminated tend to cause weight gain, while those recommended encourage weight loss.
