The 5 Most Common Excuses and Why They Don't Count

We all know the drill: We should be eating healthier foods, we should be doing more exercise, we should be going to the doctor to get checked for potentially degenerative diseases.

'Should' means "I think I have to, but I really don't want to."

'Should' is like 'try', you know it needs to happen but you don't really care if it doesn't. 'I should be healthier' 'I tried to eat healthy foods but I just couldn't stick with it'.

The only way you can do this, the only way you can finally achieve your long desired goal, or make the lifestyle choices you need to live a long and healthy life, is by turning a 'Should' into a 'Must'.

You need to make the change mentally (from a 'Should' to a 'Must') before you can make any physical changes.

As a wise green creature once said "Try Not. Do, or Do Not. There is no Try." (Yoda from Star Wars).

People come up with a million objections of why they can't start a New Vibrant Successful and Energetic Life. Maybe some of these sound familiar to you?

Here are five of the most common excuses why people do not look after their health and create a healthier lifestyle and why none of them count.

I don't have enough time.

Do you have time to waste being sick? People waste years of their life being unwell. In fact, being healthy and energetic will gain time for you, you will be so much more productive and efficient and you're likely to live years longer!

I am addicted to food.

You may be addicted to certain foods, but if you start breaking the patterns by introducing different foods, and making different choices like organic food, smaller meals, and exercising, you will see that you can break these addictions much more easily than you think. After all, even your addictions are mainly in your mind - if you believe you can defy them, you can!

Healthy food is boring and tastes bad

We all love to eat tasty food. If it really tasted bad to eating healthily tasted bad, no one would do it! The reality is, you can make any food taste good. Get creative and try something new.

Eat as much fresh organic food as you can find and you will see how great it tastes! And Remember even your favourite burger or a piece of chocolate doesn't taste as good as healthy feels!

I'm confused. It's too hard!

Learning new things and creating new habits is never easy. But remember what it will cost you if you don't make these changes. Seek a teacher or a program that will help you to make the necessary changes step by step. Eventually it will only take a few minutes a day to make it work.

I screwed up - I might as well stop.

Whether you missed an exercise session or you gave into a craving, it's not that big of a deal. You screwed up, so what? Don't give in. Get over it and get back in the game.

In fact, it can actually be beneficial for your body (and your desires) to break your diet every so often If you break your healthy habits during the week by eating a biscuit, well that's not so bad. Stop and get back on track. Eat one biscuit not the whole pack (but if you did eat the whole pack, don't beat yourself up, just get back up and keep going)!

Positive Behavior

It will become easier to maintain your new lifestyle the longer you do it. Don't let inertia take hold! Just start, do something and it becomes easier. Make small changes every day; start with breakfast, then morning tea and keep adding to it. Go for walks or a bike ride, little things will turn into bigger things and even bigger results.

Don't keep telling yourself and others what you CAN'T do! Focus on all the things you CAN do and remember if you can believe it you can achieve it!
