There has been much controversy surrounding the product that has taken the world by storm. The product is an e cigarette, and its many opponents cite its cons. However, when you compare the pros and the cons of this powerful contraption, one can't argue that the pros far outweigh the cons.

1. There is no smoke. Because the e cigarette doesn't use tobacco and doesn't need a flame to light it up, it produces no smoke. The smoke you might see coming out of a person's mouth when they inhale is actually an odorless vapor. Since there is no smoke, users can, at this point in time, use the e cigarette in public and even indoors where they could not smoke before without the worry of secondhand smoke.

2. There is no tar. You know that thick, gooey, gelatinous black stuff that workers lay down on the streets? Yes, that's tar, and when you smoke a traditional tobacco cigarette, that is the stuff you are inhaling. Can't be too good for your health, right?

3. They are absent 4000+ chemicals typically found in traditional tobacco cigs, which can include acetone, carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, ammonia, and a few thousand more. Each e cigarette's liquid nicotine solution contains but 10 to 20 ingredients, and their names are fairly common. Propylene glycol usually constitutes the majority of the solution, but alcohol, vinegar, nicotine, and artificial and natural flavorings, that are usually present to give the e cigarette flavors such as tobacco, menthol, strawberry, chocolate, and peach, are the other ingredients put into the liquid solution.

4. You can choose your nicotine strength. Heavy chain smokers who go through a pack or two or three or four in a single day can use the high strength dosage in the beginning. Then once they are comfortable, they can reduce the nicotine strength and ultimately use the no nicotine solutions.

5. It is less expensive. The initial investment will definitely be pricey. Depending on the brand and model, each e cigarette starter kit can be anywhere from $40 to $150, but you will definitely see the savings in the long run. Refueling your e cigarette with the liquid solution can be done in two ways: through refill cartridges and by e liquid. Refill cartridges will replace your current cartridge and can give you a few hundred puffs. E liquid drops can be placed in your current cartridge and can give you a few hundred puffs as well. In the long run, what you would normally spend on a pack of cigarettes can only cost you as much as $1.50 for the same amount with e cigarettes.

And this is just tapping the surface. It's easy to see, given the choice between tobacco cigarettes and e cigarettes, which one is the better choice.
