Mold is a substance that you don't want to see in your home. Producing mycotoxins that can cause serious health problems. It also looks rather unsightly when you want to see a nice clean home. Mold grows in only certain conditions, and can be defeated.

If you have a temperature in between 40 and 100 degrees that will allow mold one of the conditions it needs to thrive. But the humidity must be no less than 75% either. The final condition that must be present in order for the growth of mold is food for it to eat. That food can be found in many different ways, mold is nothing if creative.

Those food sources can include food that is raw or uncooked, plant soil, dust, wood, and even paper. But those are nowhere near all the different foods that mold will eat in order to survive. In order to fight that mold you need to be persistent, and yes it will cost you some money.

First get some mold spray and a mold preventer. When you see mold pop up someplace immediately spray it with the mold spray. Clean the areas thoroughly to make sure the entire mold is gone, and then apply your mold preventer. This will help to clean up the mold and hopefully make sure it doesn't come around again.

Buy an air purifier that has a filter that is HEPA, these filters are very good at removing those molds from the air. And really you're going to be amazed at how much better your home will smell in general.

Don't forget that mold grows in high humidity, that's why you need to get a dehumidifier. Run this to keep that humidity well below the 75% that mold loves. With this and the air purifier you can find some pretty decent prices, look for sales even.

Though you may not even think about it you should. The filter you place in your air conditioner should also be rated as a filter that will help to remove mold from the air as it is ran through the filter. It may cost you a bit more, but it will be well worth the cost when you consider that those mycotoxins can be dangerous.

Also another part of helping with mold that not many people think of is filters to place on windows. These filters will help if you open the windows to let the air in from outside. Removing the mold that could easily be in that air and keeping it from entering your home.

Some of the symptoms you may notice from mold being in your home are headaches, dermatitis, and coughs. Though they are not serious conditions mold can cause more serious problems like pulmonary homosiderosis and asthma. Getting this mold out of your home quickly is highly recommended, and always keeps a lookout for any new outbreaks of mold in your home. With the tips in this article though you should have a great shot at a mold free home.
