The cost of dental implants always depends on what work is necessary to perform. Several different conditions may be present at once, driving up the cost of labor. It takes a thorough examination to diagnose all existing conditions so that a plan of action can be developed by a professional who is trained in implant dentistry. It is very difficult to get a true picture of what your needs are, and therefore what your costs will be, over the Internet. We urge you to be cautious about any claims to low, fixed pricing on dental implants. There is much often more going on than you realize.

Even in simpler cases, there are going to be variables to consider you may not have thought about. For example, to have an implant plus a crown may cost anywhere from $2500 - $5000, depending on one or more of the following factors.

1. Was the tooth already missing when you came to our office, or was it in such bad condition it required extraction? Extraction is a procedure unto itself, and represents a cost added to that of the dental implant.

2. Is the spacing between your natural teeth just right to simply restore one tooth? If so, placement should be simple and relatively quick. If there is too little or too much spacing, other measures will have to be taken at additional costs to ensure the cosmetic value of our dental implants.

3. Do you need a root canal performed? Have you had a root canal performed on a nearby tooth? If a root canal is needed, there is an additional cost to this service in addition to that of the dental implant.

4. Have you had a fall or a blow? If so, we may need to use something like Invisalign liners to repair misalignment in your remaining natural teeth.

5. Do you have a tooth that you can tell will be lost?

6. Do you have periodontal problems with this area and adjacent teeth? If so, LANAP may be necessary to treat periodontal disease prior to our initiating any dental implant procedures.

7. Have you lost bone in the area you are asking about? There are certainly times when the bone is OK and adequate, that an implant is a great idea, and there are other situations in which an alternate treatment would be better for you. Dental implants are terrific, but there are times when they are contra-indicated (lack of bone, esthetic demands).

8. Do your other front teeth have needs? Matching teeth color can be tricky, and there are times that other fillings need to be replaced or other crowns need to be done at additional cost at the same time.

Truly the only way that we can understand your needs and give you an estimate of costs for dental implants is for you to come into the office and let us take x-rays, photos, and study models of your mouth. Going without teeth is more than a medical problem. It is a matter of personal health and well being; the cost of neglecting cosmetic dental solutions such as implants can be expensive in other ways than money.
