Have you wondered lately why it is costing you so much more for a pack of cigarettes now as opposed to five years ago? Of course, we all know that inflation plays a part in the cost of everything, but if tobacco companies cut out a lot of the deadly chemicals that they put in the tobacco in the first place, you would think that the product could be made cheaper. So, why do they spend all of that extra money putting things in the tobacco that smokers had rather not have in it anyway.

The answer to that question is relatively simple. The additives make them more addictive than they have to be evidently. What other reason could there be for putting in a lot of things that our ancestors did not have in their tobacco? Of course, that opinion might be debated by the tobacco companies themselves, but then why is the government allowing the FDA to oversee what goes into the tobacco now? What ever goes into tobacco or not, the simple truth is that even if it were completely chemical free, it still would not be good to smoke because of the tar that you get from burning the tobacco.

The FDA is about to be responsible for overseeing what goes into tobacco and how the packaging is labeled. The only thing about that is that most cigarette smokers already know that cigarettes are full of chemicals and they know what the consequences are when they smoke them? SO, what good is going to come from the FDA having the control over tobacco anyway? They are supposedly going to make the warning labels look and sound even more deadly, so does that mean that the tobacco is still going be as deadly later as it is now? Smokers will just have to wait and see.

In the mean time there is a newer product that smokers could choose to try if they are interested. The electric cigarette is a more simplified product in that the ingredients are actually very limited. The filter that holds the nicotine liquid is made up of mostly nicotine, water, propylene glycol, and flavorings. The device is used almost exactly like a traditional cigarettes except there is no tobacco and you do not light it. It works using a battery stick, filter with nicotine liquid and an atomizer to heat the liquid.

This product produces no tar and so secondhand smoke, only water vapor. It tastes much the same as a regular tobacco cigarette and the sensation is very similar as well. They are also cheaper to use than tobacco products. You can purchase a starter kit with everything you will need to try the product for around $70.00. This includes two batteries, a charger for them, the atomizer, and five filters which are equivalent to a pack of cigarettes each. The are though by most researchers to be far less harmful to your health and to others.
