One of the biggest reasons that smokers never get around to quitting is because sometimes they lead very busy lives. It can be hard to wrap your head around quitting smoking. Just the thought of trying to do it can be frightening for a smoker. This might sound ridiculous to those that have never smoked, but it is a major life change for a smoker. Smokers are not stupid people, they are addicted people and becoming addicted to any substance can happen to anyone. Once you have tried smoking cigarettes and become addicted to them, quitting can be one of the most difficult tasks a person can undertake.
Finding the right time to try and quit is almost impossible. A smoker will say that as soon as things calm down enough, they will give it a try. The only problem with that is things never seem to calm down enough for them to do it. In order to stop using a lack of time and an inability to concentrate on the task, and yes, quitting smoking requires a concentrated effort, it might be a smart idea to take the time needed and just get it done.
Using a few days off from work that you might have coming is a good time. You might even want to discuss taking a few days off with your boss even if you are not due any time off. Quitting smoking is a very serious matter and your boss might be more receptive to your taking a little time off since you will be putting it to good use. They will be getting a better worker that will be reducing the chances of being sick from smoking related issues when you come back.
If you can manage to pull it off, arrange to wither stay home or you might want to visit someplace where you can relax while you are attempting to quit. You will likely need to get plenty of rest because when you are asleep you can not smoke. It is still going to be difficult to quit, it is never a walk in the park, but if you do not have other things going on around you as you usually do, you might stand a better chance. You should get with your doctor before your quit smoking vacation and see if there is anything he can do to help. You might need a mild sedative to use or he could recommend a stop smoking aid that will be helpful during your quitting process.
