Many smokers that have not stopped smoking have decided to change what they smoke. Instead of smoking tobacco cigarettes that produce tar and fill their lungs with carcinogenic residue and deadly chemicals, the electric cigarette has taken its place. No tar and very few ingredients are the main reasons that so many smokers have started using this smoking device instead. Are tobacco cigarettes on their way out? Only time will tell.
The electric cigarette is a battery operated smoking apparatus that has a reusable cartridge that is filled with nicotine liquid, flavorings, water, and an ingredient called propylene glycol. Propylene glycol is used in many products that are already marketed widely such as intravenous medications, a solvent in food colorings and flavorings, mouthwash and toothpaste, and a wide variety or other non consumable things. It is considered safe to use with very few or no side affects in most people. The product is used in the electric cigarette to deliver vaporized nicotine.
The nicotine in the electric cigarette filter is what smokers crave so there is no need for the actual tobacco or a need to burn the substance that would cause it to be carcinogenic. The nicotine liquid is heated with an atomizer by the charged battery. This delivers the very similar sensation of smoking to a person. The flavorings give the similar taste of tobacco. There is no actual smoke involved because the nicotine substance is not set on fire, only heated. This is how the electric cigarette works to deliver the taste and feel of smoking tobacco.
Smokers also appreciate the fact that there is almost no recognizable odor associated with the electric cigarette and it considered to be almost entirely harmless to others. One nicotine filter for the cigarette is almost equivalent to an entire pack of cigarettes and cost around two dollars a piece. This is considerably cheaper than a pack of tobacco cigarettes. When you use the nicotine liquid to refill the filters, it becomes even more affordable.
Although it is still not always acceptable to the electric cigarette in public everywhere, this is largely because others are not yet aware of the fact that it is so much safer to be around than burning tobacco. It might not ever be that smoking the electric cigarette in places such as government buildings or hospitals will be allowed, but the rules could change concerning places like bars and restaurants eventually since there is so little danger or harming yourself or others.
