How many times have we heard the advice eat to live? More importantly, how many times do we need to hear it to have us create a personal mindset where we would finally realize that eating can be enjoyed but not to the extent of satisfying our cravings too much that we end up making foul lifestyle choices?
Experts on health and nutrition have long since warned the public that eating too much and without restrictions on the food types that should be avoided is a no-no. Aside from the fact that this practice can put a strain on our health by exposing us to the possibility of acquiring too many chronic disorders, it may also subject us to obesity. Obesity is a condition where the body becomes too fat that it already exceeds the body mass index or BMI of 30. Being obese is hard and adapting to this condition is even harder. So, in an effort to lessen complications, obesity as a whole should be avoided.
Aside from obesity, a much less complicated consequence of excessive overeating and other unwise and unhealthy eating habits is bloating. Here are some practical tips to avoid bloating:
1. Chew your food well. Not chewing your food well and simply gulping it down can increase the possibility of bloating because it hampers the digestive process. When the digestive process is not properly aided, gas might leak and thus would result in bloating. So do yourself a favor and avoid a hasty meal. Chew your food well before swallowing.
2. Do not drink while eating. Drinking plenty of water is a good practice; it is also very much an advisable technique. But drinking water should not be done while eating because it would only dilute the alkaline levels in the mouth. In return, this would lead to digestion process which would then result to bloating.
3. Choose your beverages. Aside from the advice not to drink too many sodas and beverages with fizz; it is also an advisable option to drink beverages that have room temperature. This would better result in aiding the digestive process of the body.
4. Avoid drinking coffee while eating. Most people love drinking coffee while eating, if this is one of your practices too, better stop it immediately. This is not an ideal hobby and you should stop it before it ultimately wreaks havoc in your digestive processes.
5. Take supplements. It is best to drink supplements that have probiotics in it to induce the proper functioning of the digestive system.
