We all know about how cigarette smoking is for you now. It is a bad, nasty, unhealthy habit that many still do whatever their own personal reasons. Why they started in the first place is something that can not be answered easily either. Sometimes young people do start smoking because it somehow makes them feel older or that perhaps they are getting away with something they know they should not be doing. Sometimes they just want to fit in with a certain crowd that already does it. Now that we understand more about secondhand smoke, some on them can be enticed into smoking by inhaling the smoke from the cigarettes of others.
Today, the tobacco companies have gotten to the point that people do not even really know what they are smoking anymore. Oh, they know it is tobacco, but they probably have no idea about all of the deadly chemicals that go into them now. A recent ruling has given power over the tobacco industry to the FDA. They are saying that they are going to regulate what is going to be allowed to be put into the tobacco and that they are going to make them use more obvious warning labels that carry more detailed information about the ingredients and the health risks involved.
Of course, this will be a good thing, but unless the chemicals that are used in tobacco are seriously curtailed, will it really make any difference who is allowing tobacco to still be sold in anything near its current form? The warning labels will likely not make very much difference at all because these warnings have already been on cigarette packages for years and it has not really made much of a difference. It does not appear that there are going to be any new rules concerning tobacco production that is going to make any quit or make it very much, if any healthier to partake in.
On alternative that a smoker already has right now is the electric cigarette. It has very few ingredients. Nicotine liquid, propylene glycol, water, and flavorings are the most important components of this smoking solution. Propylene glycol is already a product that has been approved by the FDA and is used in a large number of consumer products. This ingredient is used to deliver the nicotine to the smoker using the electric cigarette. The product is rechargeable and no lighting or burning is required, so there is no tar. There is also no secondhand smoke because it uses water vapor. There is little or no odor and no residue. Research studies have shown for the most part that using this smoking device is far less damaging to the body than tobacco smoking. It could be that this smoking device and solution could the wave of the future for smokers.
