Do you want to build lean muscle mass, stay satisfied between meals and feel less hungry between meals?

Research shows that by consuming higher levels of protein in your diet, you can do this!

What are the best sources of lean protein? Lean protein is available from a variety of sources including meat, fish, eggs and dairy. By eating a variety of these foods throughout the day, your body will always have a small amount in it, therefore keeping you feeling better. When choosing your protein, make sure that it is lean and low fat. A chicken breast is a healthy choice, while a bacon burger is not.

How to Choose Good Protein

Protein is an amazing macro nutrient! It not only helps you feel satisfied, but also helps you lose weight. There are many types of protein to choose from. Lean, low fat meat is a good source of protein. When choosing your meat, always choose white meat, rather than dark meat, and remove the skin, as it is very fatty and unhealthy.

Seafood is also a good source of protein. By simply eating a three ounce portion of fish, you will gain the benefits of appetite control as well as the omega-3 fatty acids, which have been proven to provide you with long lasting health benefits.

Eggs have had a bad reputation for many years, but they are one of the least expensive and healthiet sources of protein available. Simply eat an egg white mixed up with skim milk and you have a double dose of protein and dairy. Or serve it hard-boiled and it makes a quick, low-fat snack.

As I just said, it is easy to add dairy protein to your diet. Simply pour yourself an 8 ounce glass of skim milk, which is also low fat, at every meal. Perhaps you love low-fat yogurt or low-fat cheese! These, too, make a nutritious protein filled snack.

When consuming dairy products you are also giving your body much needed calcium and vitamin D. Recent studies have shown that when you increase the amount of dairy in your diet, it can help promote weight loss, too.

Let's not overlook beans and soy! They, too, are wonderful sources of protein. A small serving of beans can contain as much protein as a piece of meat without all of the fat. Beans are full of fiber, helping you stay full for a long time. Soy protein helps you stay full and also reduces your chances of high cholesterol and your risk of heart disease.

Finally, let's not forget your meal replacements / protein powder products. They have been designed to contain the perfect balance of protein, which will provide your body with the essential amino acids it needs, thus giving your body the amino acids that it needs. This will also encourage your body to build lean muscle. And who doesn't want that?
