How would you like to achieve something you've been targeting for without compromising something else that is equally important? Specifically, how would you want to lose weight without having to go through strenuous weight loss programs and health-threatening weight loss supplements?

There has been much research done on weight loss and weight loss methods, as well as the factors that trigger weight loss and in contrast, the components and the elements that can help augment weight loss. According to one of the studies conducted on this area of scrutiny, losing weight while sleeping is also possible. In fact, its more than just possible; its a distinct possibility that we can all turn to.

Accordingly, the study showed that regular sleeping hours, when kept and maintained, can help in fighting off rapid weight gain and obesity. This is in comparison to those who only sleep for two to three hours a day. More than anything else, this research indicates that getting more sleep is an important step in sustaining a healthy body weight.

A more in-depth study revealed that this phenomenon has something to do with the concept behind the secretion of the hormone, ghrelin and leptin. In laymans explanation, leptin are the hormones released by the fat cells; these are the hormones that make us feel full and sated. When these hormones are low, another hormone, called the ghrelin, is being released by the stomach cells. These hormones, in turn, cause us to feel hunger more frequently. Lack of sleep can strain the fat and the stomach cells, and the possibility is that our energies will become drained, thus causing us to overeat.

Ideally, the average person should sleep at least 8 hours a day. Actually, there is a debate on whether these numbers of sleeping hours should really be followed but the thing is, we all have different responses; or at least our bodies do. That said; we should make it a point to test the temperament of our bodies to see how much sleep we should have for each day in order to give our system the time to rest well.

For those people who have chronic problems or are altogether unhealthy, there are certain ways to augment the health in order to make us more active while also enhancing the level of health and wellness for our system. Ideally, our bodies should be resting at nigh so that our systems and organs can experience a full-blast relaxation. Another recommendation from experts is also for individuals to eat a hearty meal hours before going to sleep in order to avoid strains to the digestive tract and to the brain as well.

Meanwhile, insomniacs are advised to visit their physicians in order to instruct them on how to sleep better. The use of nutritional supplements to enhance sleeping patterns without medical supervision is also strongly vetoed.
