Now that you have passed through the stage of giving birth to your child, it is time to get back in shape. There are loads of strategies which are followed by mothers to take care of their new born child, but in the process it is generally forgotten that taking care of their own body is as necessary. Owing to the excessive amounts of fatty foods consumed and ample rest that is undertaken by pregnant women during the time of their pregnancy, their body is bound to gain those extra pounds. To shed the same, one must effectively follow the following tips-
1.Practicality counts- Do not expect that you would fit back into your clothes right after a few months after delivery. It has taken your body a complete cycle of nine months to reach this stage and it might take another nine months to get back to the original one. Looking up to women who have shed oodles of weight in lesser time is really not a good idea as every person has different bodily requirements and unreasonable comparisons would only demoralize you.
2.Eat Healthy- Eating a well balanced and nutritious diet is a must. Go for green vegetables, fruits and juices instead of starving yourself throughout the day. It is commonly believed that by not eating food, the body would lose weight! However, it is not so. All that your body will lose is only its shine and its glow; your weight would still remain the same. So stop starving yourself and eat healthily!
3.Exercise Regularly- Exercising always helps you to get back your lost figure. Do not go in for extremely strenuous exercises immediately after delivery, especially after a cesarean birth as there is a danger of stitches being harmed. Even otherwise, strike a perfect balance between rest and exercise so that your body slowly gets accustomed to meet the new and normal conditions.
4.Continue Breastfeeding- Continue to breastfeed your child at least till after the first six months of having given birth. This would indeed help you to lose the weight which you had gained during your period of pregnancy. Though this treatment is not much sought after, but yet it is believed to perform wonders for weight loss.
5.Walk your way through- Walking is indeed the best form of exercise. Even if due to one reason or another, you cannot go in for regularity of exercises, always go for a walk. Initially begin with about five to ten minutes of light walking around your block but later, increase your walking area and your walking time as well.
Weight loss is not a one day achievement. It is an effort which is continually put in and is achieved only after working relentlessly for a particular period of time. All you need to have is a strong body but a stronger will!
