Are you like so many others these days that are beginning to look just a little bit closer at how healthy you are or are not? Upon close examination some of us that think we should be fairly healthy might be just kidding ourselves. If you eat too much fatty foods, drinks too many soda, like junk food too much, get little exercise, and especially above all if you smoke, you probably should not think you are healthy at all. Even if your cholesterol is good enough right now and your are only a few pounds overweight, that can easily change as you get older. When you lie around to much when you are not working, then your body is not as fit as it could be by any mean. If you smoke cigarettes, then you know you are damaging your body every time you light one up.

Getting over all healthy does not mean just doing one or two things, it means that you have to incorporate a lot of things in order to achieve your goal. You must eat the things that are good for you. This does not mean that you can never have any of the good stuff, just that you have to have things like chips or soda in moderation. You can have some fried foods, just not every day. If you just add more fresh vegetables, lots of water, and leaner meats to your meals, you will not have to worry nearly so much about cholesterol that can cause heart and artery disease or weight gain nearly as much as you would eating the way you do now.

Exercise plays a very vital part in being healthy. Just walking around the house or your workplace is not adequate exercise for anyone. You have to get up and get your body moving. It never hurts to sweat a little and get your cardiovascular system pumping. It makes you heart healthier and it is great for your mind as well. You will feel better over all and have more energy when you are at work. You probably will not feel as sluggish as you might right now. Exercise is so good for you and that is why so many doctors recommend it so highly.

Last of all, if you smoke tobacco cigarettes, you have to give them up. Anything else you do to make yourself healthier will be in vain as long as you continue to smoke. You just can not have any hope of being healthy and fit and smoke cigarettes at the same time. Some people think that it is so hard to quit, and it usually is, but when you do your best to incorporate quitting smoking in with eating right and getting exercise all at one time, you will feel better physically and mentally. When you begin to exercise more, you will be able to tell the difference right away when you stop smoking. Make your life the best you can and that definitely does not include smoking.
