Learning what the differences are between the electric cigarette and a tobacco cigarette might be a little confusing to some smokers because they are so much alike and then so very different all at the same time. You might wonder at how something can be so similar and yet so varied, but it is possible. There are certain things that both smoking forms provides, but then there are some things you get from one and not the other. Which one is the best for you to smoke? That is a question you will need to decide the answer to yourself.

First look at what you get from a tobacco cigarette. You get smoking satisfaction from the burning tobacco that gives you the nicotine you crave. You get the warm sensation you enjoy as you inhale this burning concoction. The concoction being the tobacco itself, the nicotine you crave, and the thousands of other cancer causing chemicals that tobacco contains. You also get the choking smoke that is so deadly to you and others. You get the sticky tar that coats your lungs and any surfaces around you. You get to hold it between your fingers and put it to your mouth and puff, which satisfies some crazy emotional attachment you have to the product as well. What you do not get from tobacco is a healthy body and peace of mind.

What do you get from the electric cigarette? Well, you get the nicotine. You get the warm smoky sensation, but not the smoke. You get to hold it in between your fingers, you put it in your mouth and puff. There is no burning tobacco however, only heated nicotine mixed with water vapor, propylene glycol and flavorings. What you do not get is the tremendous risks for cancer that is so prevalent when smoking tobacco. This is not to say that there is no risk at all involved in smoking an electric cigarette, but most studies show that the health risks are much smaller. There is no odor from an electric cigarette. There is no sticky tar residue to damage surfaces in your lungs or your home and vehicle. You also get to keep more of your money because the electric cigarette costs about half as much to smoke as tobacco cigarettes.

So, you just have to look at what you get from one smoking option and the other. You also have to look at what you do not get from one smoking option and the other. The choice should be simple enough. One will likely kill you and the other probably will not. One is cheaper to use, the other more expensive. One produces secondhand smoke and one does not. One can burn down your house, the other can not. One stinks and is odorless. One leaves a nasty, staining residue, one will not. They both will satisfy your craving for nicotine. The choice is up to you.
